He holds and MFA in Lighting Design from Indiana University, and a BFA from the University of Utah. Design credits include productions for Pioneer Theatre Company, Arizona Broadway Theatre, Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre, Ancram Opera House, LOOK Musicals, New Century Dance, Repertory Dance Theater, Samba Fogo, PURE Theatre, and Mobile Opera. He frequently designs at the Salt Lake Acting Company, and was the Resident Lighting Designer at Plan-B Theatre Company for 10 seasons.
Jesse is currently as Assistant Professor at Cal Poly Pomona, and previously served on the faculty of the University of Utah and the College of Charleston. He has been a guest artist and has lectured at Baylor University, Millikin University, and Idaho State University. He is a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829 and an active member of USITT, where he is a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and is currently the Vice-commissioner of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Lighting Design and Technology.
